Video games have become ubiquitous, and yet the topic of whether they are an art form is still hotly debated. The author, for one, has always felt they have an artistry all their own, which probably explains why his chosen medium for so long was the phlog (photo blog).
He took time to create each phlog, choosing screenshots that best illustrate a topic, adjusting his avatar and in-game camera to capture the right composition, and writing companion copy to help elaborate on the visual. It was a labor of love.
Every screenshot on This Gamer's Life (except for some press kit shots for E3 articles) was taken by the author, either on a phone or console, some long before blessed photo mode made shutterbugs of us all. Please enjoy these select images.
